War against drugs can be won by joint collaboration of police, public & media: SP Cachar

June 27: In its attempt to thwart incidents of drugs abuse, Assam Police has waged a war against drugs under the direction of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Director General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta. The society, media, NGOs- all have got a great role to play in this regard. Such joint efforts are surely going to attain success in this war. This was said by Vaibhav C. Nimbalkar, Superintendent of Police, Cachar on Saturday during a panel discussion on ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.’

The panel discussion was jointly organised by Cachar Police in collaboration with NGO Dream Foundation. Apart from the Police Super of Cachar, the other panelists were Advocate Sumita Som, Vice President of District Bar Association, Cachar, Dr Suman Baidya- Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Medical Officer OST Center, Dept. of Psychiatry, Silchar Medical College and Hospital and Niloy Kr. Dey- Counselor, Nabajyoti Foundation, Rehabilitation Center. The panel discussion was moderated by Rtr Nikita Banik, Founder President of Dream Celebration.
