Private schools in Assam to take 50% fees of April, no fee hike till corona pandemic prevails: Himanta
April 22: All private schools in Assam shall have to take only 50 percent of fees for the month of April. This applies for all classes till Class XII. Further, no private schools can enhance any fees till the coronavirus pandemic prevails without the prior approval of the state government. If, any private school has already collected the full fees for the month of April, than it should be adjusted in the next month. This was stated by State Education Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The minister further said that no private school can reduce the salary of teachers and staff. He further said that if any school violates these directives, than as per the Disaster Management Act, the erring schools will be closed down by the government.
