Viral document of resumption of DA of central govt employees is FAKE: PIB
June 26: A document is doing rounds on social media claiming that Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central government employees and pensioners will be resumed from July 2021. The letter issued in the name of Finance Secretary of India has become viral on social media platforms. Many news portals also became a prey to this document on DA and DR. However, PIB Fact Check came out soon with a clarification, which stated, “This claim is #Fake. No such announcement has been made by the Government of India.”

In the viral order, it was stated, “The undersigned is directed to say that the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief frozen during COVID-19 crisis is to be resumed from 1st July, 2021. The additional installments of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief due from 1st July, 2020 and 1st Jan 2021 shall be paid in three installments. These orders shall be applicable to all Central Government employees and Central Government pensioners.”

But with the clarification from Press Information Bureau (PIB), it has now become certain that this viral document in social media is a FAKE one.
