Veteran Congress leader Oscar Fernandes passes away
Sept 13: Former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader Oscar Fernandes breathed his last at Yenepoya Hospital in in Karnataka’s Mangaluru on Monday. He was 80. Fernandes was hospitalised on 19 July following intracranial bleeding after he fell down in his house. He then underwent operation for removal of a brain clot on 27 July. He was a 5-time Lok Sabha and 4-time Rajya Sabha member. Oscar Fernandes is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
