US President Donald Trump permanently banned from Twitter
Jan. 9: Twitter has announced that it has permanently suspended the account of US President Donald Trump because of “the risk of further incitement to violence.” Trump’s account, which had been locked for 12 hours after the turmoil at the US Capitol on Thursday, is now completely offline. All presidential tweets are no longer available.

The account has more than 88 million followers. This is the first time that Twitter has banned a head of state. In a tweet, Tweeter Safety wrote, “After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
