Unlock Assam: State Govt to withdraw all Covid curbs from 15 Feb: CM Himanta
Feb. 13: As the number of Covid cases started to reduce drastically, Assam government is going to withdraw all curbs imposed in the state so far. Taking to his twitter handle on Sunday night, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that all Covid protocols including compulsory testing of passengers at airport, railway stations and hospitals, restrictions including night curfew, public gatherings etc. shall be withdrawn from 15 February, 2022 onwards. In this connection, detailed notification will be issued by the state government on 14 February.

It needs mention here that on Sunday, out of 9,533 tests, 79 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 7,23,495. The positivity rate in the state is 0.83 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 45 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday, 04 died in the state due to COVID-19. The death toll in the state stands at 6,605. The recovery rate is 98.56 percent. Also, 959 persons were discharged during the day. There are at present 2,499 active Covid patients in the state.
