Unlock 3 Guidelines to remain in effect in Assam till 4 September: Chief Secretary
August 31: In an order issued by the Chief Secretary of Assam on 31 August, 2020, it was stated that the measures declared in the office order on 13 August, 2020 as regards Unlock 3 shall remain in force in Assam till midnight of 4 September, 2020.
The notification stated, “With the objective of containing the spread of COVID19 in the state of Assam, various orders under Disaster Management Act were issued prohibiting certain activities with the objective of preventing spread of Corona Virus; Whereas the Government of India vide order no. 40-3/2020 -DM-I(A) dated 29th August. 2020 has issued latest directives; Whereas certain issues need to be examined thoroughly before any further relaxations are allowed.”
It was in this context that the Chief Secretary wrote, “Therefore, I, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, under the powers conferred upon me under the Disaster Management Act, do hereby order that measures as stipulated in our earlier order vide no. ASDMA.24/ 2020/Part — 1/ 98 dated the 13th August, 2020 will remain in force till midnight of 4th September, 2020; These orders/ specifications may be modified / altered at any time depending upon circumstances prevailing in the State and without any advance notice to anyone. ”
