Ujjwala Yojana 2.0: Minister Suklabaidya gives free cooking gas connection to beneficiaries in Cachar
Dec 28: Minister for Forests , Environment, Fisheries and Excise Parimal Suklabaidya ceremonially distributed free LPG connections on Tuesday amongst the beneficiaries under the second phase of Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana 2.0. On the same day, the Minister distributed free gas connections among the beneficiaries at a function organized by “Aarti Bharat Gas Grameen Vitarak” at Loharbandh under Barajalenga development block of Dholai Assembly constituency in Cachar District.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said, “This scheme was first launched in 2016, two years after the formation of the BJP-led central government in 2014. In the first phase, about 80 million women were given free LPG connections and in the 2021-22 budget, Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana announced another 10 million gas connections. Those who have not been able to avail the benefits of this project before will be benefited by this project in the second phase”. He further added that the beneficiaries of Ujjwala 2.0 will be given the first refill and necessary items free of cost along with LPG connection without depositing money.
“Women are really getting respect for the positive thinking and foresight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This government has given women the opportunity to live with dignity. Not only that, this government has come up with a number of people oriented projects for women, one of which is the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana. Our government has come up with a number of projects aimed at empowering women financially, not just cooking gas,” Suklabaidya quipped.
Relevant speeches were made by Subodh Das, Regional Panchayat President, Barajalenga Development Block, Lakshi Rani Yadav, Zilla Parishad Member, West Dhalai, Sushil Ranjan Dhar, President, BJP Barajalenga Mandal and others.
After the official inauguration, the Minister distributed free gas connections to about 15 women. It is to be noted that the gas connections will be distributed among 1000 beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojana. Beneficiaries of Irongmara GP, Barajalenga GP, Nayabil GP, Darbi GP, Dhoarband GP, Loharband GP, Bagbahar GP of Barajalenga Development Block were present at the inauguration ceremony.
