Two Nigerian nationals held for illegal stay

way2barak, Jan 5: The Operations Cell of the South West District Police of has apprehended two Nigerian nationals for illegally residing in India without valid visa documents, said the police, adding that deportation proceedings have been initiated through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in RK Puram. The accused have been identified as Miracele Onyeka and Moses Chinoso. The official said they were caught in Delhi during night patrolling activities on New Year’s Eve after the police received secret information about the movement of foreign nationals.The accused claimed they had entered India on tourist and business visas, which were deposited with their embassy. However, verification with the Immigration Department revealed that they had overstayed. During questioning, the two disclosed that they had been working housekeeping jobs in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida, and were residing in Kishangarh Village. On the day of their arrest, they were heading towards Hauz Khas for New Year celebrations.
