Two-Day Workshop on the culture of Academic Writing held at Assam University, Silchar
September 12: The Research For Resurgence Foundation-RPRF (Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Assam Visvavidyalaya Samiti) initiated two day workshop on the culture of academic writing titled “Academic Writing: Delineating Theory and Praxis” on 11 September, 2019. The inaugural session was chaired by Honourable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dilip Chandra Nath.
The workshop was attended by dignitaries from Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (Assam Vishvavidyalaya Samiti), resource persons, faculty members from college and university and the research scholars from various department. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath laid down the significance and the need for rigorous process in building the process of scholarly writing. He also said such type of events will definitely pave the way towards healthy research temperament among upcoming researchers.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Debotosh Chakroborty, Assistant Secretary Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (Assam Vishvavidyalaya Samiti). Speaking on this occasion Prof. Niranjan Roy, Convener (Workshop) and the nodal officer (Research for Resurgence Foundation) highlighted the broad areas undertaken by RFRF towards the corridors of research culture in India. He also laid down significance on the need for Indian Education System and the initiatives undertaken to reach the goal.
Professor N B Dey, President Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (Assam Vishvavidyalaya Samiti) delivered presidential address and highlighted the need for such academic engagement process. Resource persons Dr. Anindya Shyam Choudhury from English Department and Dr. Alfarid Hussain from Mass Communication Department also delivered lecture during inaugural session. Young research scholars Dr. Joydeep Goswami, Binay Paul and Neelatphal Chanda acted as Co-Coordinator for this event under the guidance of Professor. Niranjan Roy.
