Traits of patriotism & social service makes Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion a special entity
August 23: Being the young brigade of Lions Club of Karimganj Centurion, the Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion since its very inception has dedicated themselves to the service of humanity. A sense of being catalysts of social change is what makes the youth brigade of Lions distinguished from any other such organisations.
Along with a zeal to serve the society at large, Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion also has immense patriotic fervour in them. Youth when imbibes in them the traits of patriotism and social service can really do wonders in making the world a better place to live in.
Another praiseworthy characteristic among the young members of this club is their sense of cooperation with other similar organisations. A glaring instance of their sense of collaboration was seen during the celebration of 73rd Independence Day. On that occasion, Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion in collaboration with Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion (Alpha) observed the day with full enthusiasm. They did not restrict themselves to mere hoisting the tricolour, but also came forward and distributed 50 food packets among the children of day labourers.
Though young, yet they had in the recent past successfully collaborated with Karimganj District Administration and distributed around 300 food packets to the inmates of the District Jail, Karimganj. They had also earned laurels from the district administration for this endeavour.
Again, the fruits of successful collaboration with the Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion (Alpha), they celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Indo-Bangladesh Border, Sutarkandi where they tied rakhi on the wrists of the Border Security Forces (BSF) and also distributed sweets among them. Out of their sense of patriotism, they also commemorated the sacrifice of the martyrs of the Pulwama Attack.
Speaking to way2barak, Leo Hira Paul and Leo Arkajit Paul said, “We off and on involve ourselves in varied philanthropic activities under the able guidance of our parent body Lions Club of Karimganj Centurion. We have chalked a blue print of works which will be done by us in the coming days.”
Leo Sushmita Jain, President of Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion expressed gratitude to all its members for their whole-hearted dedicated service.
