Tragic incident: Under-19 cricket player of Assam, Bivakar Nag passes away

Sept. 7: In a tragic incident, a under-19 cricket player from Assam, Bivakar Nag lost his life in a tragic incident in Kakosang Waterfalls near Bokakhat in Karbi Anglong District of Assam. The incident took place on 6 September. His body, however, was recovered by the SDRF on Monday. The deceased is a resident of Golaghat district in Assam.

Taking to social media, Devajit Lon Saikia, Secretary of Assam Cricket Association wrote on his Facebook wall, “Deeply saddened for sudden demise of upcoming &promising pace bowler Bivakar Nag in a tragic incident in Kakosang Waterfalls near Bokakhat in Karbi Anglong District yesterday. He represented Assam under-19 team in Cooch Behar Trophy in the season 2019-20 and was instrumental in the team’s stupendous success in defeating several front-ranking State Teams ofthe country. He was definitely a bright bowling prospect of our State who will be immensely missed.On behalf of Assam Cricket Association, I express heartfelt condolences to his parents, friends & well-wishers & prayers for eternal peace of the departed soul.”
