Traffic plan & route to be followed for idol immersion on Dashami in Silchar

Oct. 15: Silchar Traffic Police has come up with a set of traffic control plan to be followed during idol immersion in connection with Durga Puja, 2021. In pursuance of Govt. order issued from Health & Family Welfare Department and for smooth completion of immersion of Durga Idol, immersion slot has been prepared in respect of immersion ghat at Sadar Ghat, Silchar. The immersion ceremony has been spread across two days in Silchar- on 15 & 16 October.

Idol Immersion:

• No vehicles can ply on the date of idol immersion on 15 October from 12 noon in Silchar Municipal area till further notice.
• Vehicles with idols for immersion from Rangirkhari will proceed towards Immersion ghat through Premtola, Nazirpatty, Central road, Dak Bungalow point.
• After idol immersion, the vehicles in which idols were brought will return back through the road near Silchar Municipal Board.
• Vehicles carrying idols from Tarapur will proceed towards the immersion ghat through DIG Bungalow point, Shillongpatty, Premtola.
• From Rongpur area, vehicles carrying idols will move towards Airlines Point, Club Road, Dak Bungalow point and reach the immersion ghat.
• However, these restrictions will not be applicable for Fire Brigade, Medical vans, Water Supply vehicles and on-duty vehicles of Magistrates or police.

The immersion of idol of Devi Durga has been planned in this manner:

1. Family/ Residential Puja: Immersion Slot: 15 October, 2021: Time- 7 AM to 2 PM
2. Mandir Puja/ Barwari Puja: Immersion Slot: 15 October, 2021: Time- 2 PM to 9 PM
3. Barwari Puja: Immersion Slot: 16 October, 2021: Time- 7 AM to 9 PM
