Traffic congestion likely to occur in Silchar on 24 Feb due to movement of security personnel
Necessary measures being taken: SP Cachar
Feb. 23: Due to movement of buses carrying security personnel towards the poll bound Manipur state, traffic congestion in some parts of Silchar may be witnessed tomorrow. But police are making all efforts to keep the town de-congested as much as possible. This was informed by Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur on Wednesday.
She informed that four special trains carrying 46 coy of CAPF will be reaching Salchapra and Silchar Railway station on Thursday. The security personnel will deboard the train in Cachar and after that will be taken by road to Manipur. “More than 350 buses stationed at ISBT and ISTT will pick the security personnel from the railway station and move towards Jiribam, Manipur. Due to movement of buses carrying security personnel, there are chances of traffic congestion in some areas of Silchar” Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur informed.
“All traffic personnel are alerted and briefed. All necessary measures to ensure smooth passage of the election vehicles bound for Manipur would be made. As trains are staggered, so based on requirements, traffic diversion would be made” she added. As such, citizens were requested to chose their routes for traversing accordingly for swift movement.
