Times Higher Education World University ranks NIT Silchar in the band of 801-1000
Position of NIT Silchar is 19th in India and 1st in Northeast
September 3: It’s indeed a news of joy for this valley as National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar for the 1st time, since its inception was ranked internationally by the reputed Times Higher Education World University in the band of 801-1000
More than 1500 universities across 93 countries have been ranked overall in all subjects which gives an idea on the global standing of NIT, Silchar. The ranking reflects performance in 4 areas, namely, teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Achieving a rank in the band of 801-1000 for the 1st time globally overall in all subjects by is indeed a major milestone for NIT Silchar.
#NITSilchar has been ranked 801-1000(World Univ Ranking-2021) at an international level.
Its position is 19th in India and 1st in #NEIndia.

For an Indian perspective, NIT, Silchar has achieved a rank of 19 among 63 universities including IISc, 7 IITs and 4 NITs. IISc and 4 IITs rank above NIT Silchar who share the 801-1000 rank with 2 IITs, 1 NIT and major Indian technological universities like Aligarh Muslim University, Delhi Technological University, Jadavpur University while 1 IIT, 2 NIT and other major Indian universities are ranked after NIT Silchar in the 1001+ rank like Anna University, BITS Pilani, University of Calcutta and Tezpur University. In North East India, the ranking of NIT Silchar is No. 1.
