Thursday registers 892 new +ve cases in Assam, total now 20,646

July 16: On Thursday, 892 fresh cases were reported from across Assam. With this, the state tally has crossed the 20,000 mark and gone upto 20,646. At present, there are 7039 active cases in the state. Out of the 892 positive cases on Thursday, 598 are from Kamrup Metro district alone and 184 from Guwahati Jail. Further, 666 patients were also discharged during the day. A total of 13,554 patients were discharged in all till now. Two more patients succumbed to the virus on Thursday, taking the death tally of the state to 40.
