Those coming from Guwahati will now be placed under strict home quarantine
July 1: The number of coronavirus cases in Guwahati are on a constant rise, which has indeed bacome a matter of grave concern for the state government. Reportedly, Guwahati city alone has recorded 1,212 cases between 24 June and 30 June. It is in this context, that State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked district health department to place all persons coming from Guwahati under strict home quarantine.
This was disclosed by District Media Expert, Suman Choudhury during the routine press briefing at Silchar on Wednesday. Mr. Choudhury further said, “We had a video conference with the Health Minister of Assam. In the backdrop of the serious corona situation in Guwahati, the Minister directed us that all those who are coming from Guwahati should atleast be put under home quarantine.” Suman Choudhury added that earlier, those coming from Guwahati were not placed under quarantine.
The District Media Expert Expert further informed that all those who have come to Cachar from Guwahati recently, will also be put under home quarantine.
Meanwhile, while addressing a press briefing in Guwahati on Wednesday afternoon, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that “Guwahati city alone has recorded 1,212 cases between 24th June and 30th June. On 1st July, till the time of the press conference, 157 additional positive cases were recorded in the city.”
