way2barak, Oct 16 : Third phase of Amrit Kalas Yatra under “Amar Mati Amar Desh” program of Silchar Constituency was held at a function organized by Silchar Municipality board under the aegis of Cachar administration was held at Police Parade Ground, Silchar in presence of Silchar, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty , District Commissioner, Rohan Kumar Jha, Chief Executive Officer, SMB and District Development Commissioner, Rajib Roy and other dignitaries here on Sunday.
While inaugurating the event, Silchar MLA Dipayan also addressed self-help groups, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers and women and said that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Amrit Kalas Yatra is the third program of the program of Amrit Ka-Amrita Mohotsav in Cachar.
“Soil has been collected from 28 wards of Silchar municipal area as a part of the third phase program. Amrita Kals yatra program was held in Silchar block at 11 am in the morning and before that soil was collected from all GPs and blocks of the district and the soil was collected and at the second phase, 270 earthen pots, out of 540 pots of the whole state will be used in Shahid Kanaklata University. For this, all the soil from all the wards will be mixed and filled in two urns on October 27 in Guwahati and then from Guwahati to Delhi on October 28 and will be given to Amrita Batika” MLA Dipayan mentioned.
MLA Chakraborty further stated that under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state Chief Minister ,Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the present government is working for the overall development of the country and will make it the best country in the world.
While speaking as a chief guest on the occasion , Swami Sadhananda Maharaj of Bharat Sevasram Sangha gave a comprehensive explanation of the various mythological and spiritual information of India and explained the main ideology of Amrit Kalas Yatra.
Talking at the event,District Commissioner, Cachar, Rohan Kumar Jha, who was present on the occasion highlighted in detail the schedule of Amrit Kalas Yatra of Amar Mati Amar Desh program and spoke about the program of Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram in Cachar ,which is to be started from October 25 and the sports competition which will start from 1st November and urged everyone to participate in the block, district and state level competitions.
Earlier , chief executive officer, SMB and District Development Commissioner, Rajiv Roy explained the purpose.
Later, 28 earthen pitchers filled with soil of Silchar are mixed and kept in two urns, besides music and dance were also presented by the various cultural organisations on the occasion.
