Thief steals corona +ve patient’s mobile, caught & sent for quarantine

June 20: In an unusual incident, a youth stole a smartphone of a COVID-19 patient from the isolation ward of JSSB Civil Hospital in Kajalgaon in Chirang district. However, the thief got caught by the police. His swab sample was collected and sent to a quarantine centre. “Since the COVID patient was in the active stage, we fear the mobile could be the carrier of the virus,” said hospital superintendent Manoj Das. The thief identified as Pappu Burman kept in strict observation until his COVID report is received.
