There is absolutely no reason for a fresh lockdown in Assam, asserts Himanta Biswa Sarma
March 27: Amidst the assembly election season, rumours have been ripe about a probable lockdown in Assam after the polls are over in the 1st week of April, 2021 due to the surge in the number of coronavirus cases. Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that there is absolutely no reason for a lockdown as there are minimal cases in the state. He added that only about 30 cases are being detected on daily basis now.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “There will be no lockdown in Assam. About 3,500 cases were detected on a daily basis when Covid-19 was at its peak in the state and now only about 30 cases are being detected per day.”
