Cancellation and Short termination of trains in Lumding Badarpur Hill Section

way2barak, June 23: On account of boulders along with land mass falling over the railway track in the New Haflong – Jatinga Lampur section owing to improper construction work being undertaken by the NHAI for repairing of road, train services over the Lumding – Badarpur hill section had to be suspended from evening hours of today in order to ensure safety of railway passengers.

It is learnt that road repairing works were going on in that area. As a result of the work, the slope on the downstream side between the road and rail line failed and bulged out, forcing the entire mass moving towards the track. Water is also directly coming over the track from the road side. As the condition of location is critical and highly unsafe to the pass the train, rail traffic is suspended between Lumding – New Haflong – Badarpur portions with immediate effect, resulting cancellations and short termination of train services over that section. N.F. Railway authority of the Lumding Division has already written to the NHAI authority to undertake proper protection work by engaging manpower and machinery so that no further damage to the vital railway track connecting states like Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and parts of Barak Valley is done.

Railway has already engaged manpower to clear the debris from the railway track. As a result of the damage to the railway track services of the following trains have been affected:

Cancellation of trains:

 Train no. 15615 (Guwahati – Silchar) Express, Train No. 15611 (Rangiya – Silchar) Express, Train No. 15617 (Guwahati – Dullabcherra) Express and Train No. 15612 (Silchar – Rangiya) Express commencing journey on 23rd June, 2025.

 Train No. 15618 (Dullabcherra – Guwahati) Express and Train No. 05637 (Naharlagun – Silchar) Special commencing journey on 24th June, 2025.

Short Termination:

 Train no. 05638 (Silchar – Naharlagun) Special commencing journey on 23rd June, 2025 will be short terminated at New Harangajao.

 Train no. 12513 (Charlapalli – Silchar) Express commencing journey on 21st June, 2025 will be short terminated at Lumding.

 Train no. 12501 (Kolkata – Agartala) Garib Rath Express commencing journey on 22nd June, 2025 will be short terminated at Guwahati.

 Train no. 20501 (Agartala – Anand Vihar Terminal) Tejas Express commencing journey on 23rd June, 2025 will be short terminated at Badarpur.

 Train no. 12519 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Agartala) Express commencing journey on 22nd June, 2025 will be short terminated at Guwahati.

 Train no. 13175 (Sealdah – Silchar) Kanchanjungha Express commencing journey on 23rd June, 2025 will be short terminated at Lumding.

Rescheduling:

 Train no. 14037 (Silchar – New Delhi) PSK Express commencing journey on 23rd June, 2025 has been rescheduled to start at 06:00 hours of 24th June.
