The Balacherra – Harangajao part part of Mahasadak to be completed by March 2023: MP Dr Rajdeep Roy
Dec. 28: Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy on the sidelines of the recently concluded winter session of the Parliament met with Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways wherein discussion on a number of issues regarding roads were taken up. Among them, the bypass at Sonabarighat adjoining Kashipur, repairing of old Sadarghat bridge, Balacherra to Anglabari via Katakhal and ofcourse the speedy completion of the 4-lane expressway found prominence in the discussion. This was informed by Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy during a press meet held at his residence on Tuesday.
MP Dr Roy informed that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave him a patient hearing. He said, “The Union Minister informed me that he will in the meantime collect all details, especially about the 4-lane expressway and will call me back to Delhi in the 1st or 2nd week of January, when we will have another round of discussion for speedy completion of the road works.”
As regards the progress of 4-lane expressway (Mahasadak), MP Dr Rajdeep Roy said, “In the stretch between Balacherra – Harangajao, there are around 750 pilings which needs to be done at that stretch. The construction company assured me that the piling work would be completed by 31 December. As far as the information which I collected, around 600 piles have been completed, where another around 150 needs to be completed, which would be completed within the next one month. This would be followed by other related works. Actually, we have not missed the deadline. The deadline had already been extended from March 2022 to March 2023. So we are hopeful that by this deadline, we will be able to make this road motorable.”
My discussion with @nitin_gadkari ji was very focused on the 4-lane expressway which happens to be a dream project of #AtalBihariVajpayeeJi connecting #silchar to #guwahati via #halflong.
