‘Thanks people of Assam for your love,’ said Tarun Gogoi in his last audio message from GMCH

Nov. 24: The demise of former Assam Chief Minister & veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi on Monday marked the end of an era. He became the Chief Minister of Assam for thrice spanning a period of 15 long years. The 86 years old seasoned politician, Tarun Gogoi before his death expressed his gratitude for the people of Assam for their love, which inspired him to work relentless for the people of the state.

Former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi Passes Away | NationIn an audio message addressed to the people of Assam, Tarun Gogoi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the people from Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) on 4 November, 2020. The audio clip was later on shared by Tarun Gogoi’s son and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi in social media.

In the 1.55 minutes audio clip, Tarun Gogoi said, “I am greatful to the people for their love and the blessings of God which enabled me to work for the society. I am hopeful that the people of the state will continue to love me and provide inspiration to work further. I know that the people of Titabor and Jorhat love me. The love & blessings I received from the youth, students, tea labourers, farmers of the villages, planters-weavers, small traders and all the well-wishers is the main mantra of my political life. This mantra of life would further enable me to work for you all in the future.”

Former Assam Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi breathed his last at 5.34 PM on Monday in Gauhati medical College & Hospital (GMCH). He was 86. The three-time CM has been on life-support during the past two days following multi-organ failure on 21 November.
