Tension mounts again in Assam- Mizoram border, two CMs point finger at each otherআসাম-মিজোরাম সীমান্ত উত্তপ্ত, পরস্পরকে দুষছেন দুই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
July 26: In what seems to be a matter of grave concern is that fresh violence has erupted at Lailapur in Assam – Mizoram border on Monday. As per reports, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli went to visit the Assam Mizoram border on Monday, where she too had to face resistance from the Mizos. As per reports, both Mizo civilians and Mizoram Police were forcibly trying to intrude inside the territory of Assam.
Mizo civilians were also seen in an aggressive mood at the post with sticks etc in their hands. Stones were also pelted by them. Bullets were also fired in which some Assam Police officials and a few civilians were injured. Reports also suggested that vehicles on both the sides were vandalised. Cachar Police Super Nimbalkar Vaibhav Chandrakant is also on the spot.
Hon'ble @himantabiswa ji, as discussed I kindly urge that Assam Police @assampolice be instructed to withdraw from Vairengte for the safety of civilians. @narendramodi @AmitShah @PMOIndia @HMOIndia https://t.co/wHtMPhFRpP

The matter was also taken extremely seriously by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. CM Assam also tagged his post with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the tweet to Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Honble @ZoramthangaCM ji, Kolasib ( Mizoram) SP is asking us to withdraw from our post until then their civilians won’t listen nor stop violence. How can we run government in such circumstances? Hope you will intervene at earliest @AmitShah @PMOIndia.”
Dear Himantaji, after cordial meeting of CMs by Hon’ble Shri @amitshah ji, surprisingly 2 companies of Assam Police with civilians lathicharged & tear gassed civilians at Vairengte Auto Rickshaw stand inside Mizoram today. They even overrun CRPF personnel /Mizoram Police. https://t.co/SrAdH7f7rv
