অসম ত্রিপুরা সীমান্তে ৩০ লক্ষের গাঁজা সহ ৫ পাচারকারী গ্রেফতার
Marijuana worth Rs.30 lakh seized at Assam-Tripura border

২২ অ‌ক্টোবর : অসম ত্রিপুরা সীমা‌ন্তে অভিযানে নেমে সোমবার বড়সড় সাফল্য পেয়েছে ত্রিপুরা পু‌লিশ। একটি অভিযান থেকেই পুলিশ ৩০ লক্ষ টাকার গাঁজা ও নগদ প্রায় সাড়ে ৩ লক্ষ টাকা সহ তিনটি গাড়ি আটক করেছে। এই অভিযানে পুলিশ ৫ পাচারকারীকেও গ্রেফতার করে। ধৃত‌দের কাছ থে‌কে পু‌লিশ পাঁচ‌টি মোবাইল সেটও জব্দ ক‌রে।

সোমবার দুপু‌রে জাতীয় সড়ক দিয়ে গাঁজা পার হওয়ার খবর পুলিশের কাছে আগেই ছিল। সে অনুযায়ী রাস্তায় তল্লাশিতে নেমে পা‌নিসাগর পু‌লি‌শের কর্তাদের একটি ভ্যানকে দেখে সন্দেহ হয়। গাড়িটিতে চারজন যুবক ছিল। তাদের জেরা করেই পুলিশ নতুন সূত্র পায়। এদের কথামতো পুলিশ একটি ট্রাকে তল্লাশি চালায়। এই ট্রাক থেকেই ৩০ লক্ষ টাকার গাঁজা উদ্ধার করে পুলিশ। এর কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে পাশ্ববর্তী একটি স্থান থে‌কে ব‌লে‌রো সহ অন্য একজন‌কে পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করে। পুলিশের জেরার মুখে ধৃতরা জানায়, তারা খোয়াই থেকে মারু‌তি ও ব‌লে‌রো নি‌য়ে ল‌রি‌টি‌কে অসম গেট নিরাপদে অতিক্রম করিয়ে দিতে আসে। এজন্য তারা ৩ লক্ষ টাকা বখশিস পেয়েছে।

এই ল‌রি‌টি‌ গাঁজা নিয়ে উত্তরপ্র‌দেশ যাবার কথা ছিল। পু‌লিশ জানায়, ধৃত‌দের বা‌ড়ি আগরতলার ধনপুর এলাকায়। তাদের মঙ্গলবার আদালতে তোলা হবে। ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে দ্রুত সেখানে ছুটে যান উত্তর ত্রিপুরা জেলার পুলিশ সুপার ভানুপদ চক্রবর্তী। শেষ পাওয়া খবরে জানা গেছে, ধৃতদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ জারি রেখেছে পুলিশ।

October 22: Tripura police has attained a major success in a raid conducted by them on Assam-Tripura border. Marijuana worth Rs. 30 lakh along with 3.5 lakh cash money and 3 vehicles were seized during the raid. Five peddlers were also arrested by the police. Police has also seized 5 mobile phones from the arrested.

Police was already tipped off about a consignment which would pass through the National Highway. As such, Panisagar Police started checking the vehicles on Monday afternoon. Police became suspicious on seeing a van in which there were 4 youth. On questioning them, police were able to extract further information. On the basis of this information, search operation was conducted on a truck from which marijuana worth Rs.30 lakh was recovered. A little later, police also nabbed a person in a Bolero car. They later on revealed that they came from a place called Khowai to ensure safely crossing of the Assam gate. For this task, they were paid an amount of Rs.3 lakh.

The truck full of marijuana was supposed to go to Uttar Pradesh. Police has informed that the arrested youth are from Dhanpur area of Agartala. They will be produced in the court on Tuesday. On getting information, Bhanupada Chakraborty, Police Super of North Tripura district rushed to the spot. Police is carrying on interrogation of the arrested youth for further information.
