Team One Foundation distributes 1000 masks among daily wage earners of Assam University

July 15: The coronavirus pandemic has taken the entire globe in its grip. At such a crucial moment, awareness amongst the masses has become very pertinent to halt the further spread of the fatal virus. Many social organisations are actively involved in various awareness programmes in this connection. As a part of its social commitment, NGO Team One Foundation of Silchar distributed 1000 face masks among the daily wage earners and security staff of Assam University.

The masks were handed over by the members of the NGO to Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor, Assam University in presence of the Registrar in-charge Dr. P.K. Nath. On behalf of Team One Foundation, its Vice President Debojyoti Ghosh, General Secretary Arijit Goswami, AGS Health wing Niptu Paul, Nilu Kanta Das and Sobhan Kumar Bedajna were present during the occasion.

Appreciating the initiative of Team One Foundation, Vice Chancellor of the varsity said, “Face mask offers the first line of defence, protecting people to a great extent from direct infection. If everyone wears mask, the spread of this infection could be arrested to a considerable extent. I thank the NGO for this noble deed.”

General Secretary of Team One Foundation, Arijit Goswami said, “Masks has now become a symbol of civilised society. If you want to protect yourselves and others from COVID-19, the use of a mask is very essential. I express gratitude to all our members and especially to Mulchand Baid and Dhan Raj Surana for their relentless support to us.”
