অধ্যক্ষ গ্রেফতার নিয়ে টুঁ শব্দটি করলেন না কাছাড় কলেজের শিক্ষকরা
Teachers of Cachar College stands beside Swadesh Das, maintains silence on arrest of Principal

ওয়েটুবরাক, ২৪ আগস্ট : আন্দোলনের নামে শিক্ষকদের সঙ্গে দুর্ব্যবহারের জন্য দোষী ছাত্রদের চিহ্নিত করে শাস্তির দাবি জানালেন কাছাড় কলেজের শিক্ষকরা৷

জেলাশাসক কর্তৃক সহযোগী অধ্যাপক স্বদেশরঞ্জন দাসকে নিগ্রহের অভিযোগ ইস্যুতে এসিটিএ-র কাছাড় কলেজ ইউনিটের এক সভা বুধবার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়৷ দীর্ঘ আলোচনার পর বৈঠকে যে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে, তাতে অধ্যক্ষ ড. সিদ্ধার্থশংকর নাথের গ্রেফতার নিয়ে কোথাও একটি শব্দেরও উল্লেখ নেই৷ অধ্যক্ষ অবশ্য এসিটিএ-র সদস্যও নন৷

তাদের সিদ্ধান্তসমূহের মধ্যে প্রথমেই তাঁরা স্বদেশবাবুর প্রতি সহানুভূতি ব্যক্ত করেন৷  জেলাশাসকের শারীরিক নিগ্রহের যে ঘটনা স্বদেশবাবুর কাছে শুনলেন এসিটিএ ইউনিট এর নিন্দা জানায়৷ এই ঘটনার নিরপেক্ষ বিচার বিভাগীয় তদন্ত দাবি করেন, যাতে দোষীর উপযুক্ত শাস্তি হয়৷ পাশাপাশি গত ২৩ আগস্ট কলেজে ঢোকার পথে অবরোধ গড়ে তুলে একাংশ ছাত্র শিক্ষকদের সঙ্গে যে দুর্ব্যবহার করেছে কাছাড় কলেজ এসিটিএ ইউনিট এরও নিন্দা করে এবং দোষী ছাত্রদের বিরুদ্ধে শৃঙ্খলা ভঙ্গের দায়ে কড়া শাস্তির দাবি করে৷

Aug. 24: On the basis of the written complaint lodged by Dr Swadesh Ranjan Das, Associate Professor of Cachar College, Silchar on 22 August, the ACTA Unit of the institution convened an emergent meeting on 23 August. However, as the students of the college closed the main gate and sat for agitation, the said meeting could not be conducted during the day. Finally, Cachar College Unit of ACTA held the meeting on 24 August, 2022.

On hearing the ordeal faced by Dr Swadesh Ranjan Das at the hands of Deputy Commissioner, Cachar on 21 August, when he went to collect the Question Papers of Grade III & IV Examination at the Strong Room in the capacity of Assistant Centre-in- charge of Cachar College. ACTA Unit of Cachar College, Silchar unanimously condemned the physical assault on Dr. Swadesh Ranjan Das, by the D.C. Cachar, as reported by Dr. S. R. Das. The college unit expressed solidarity to Dr Das and demanded an impartial judicial enquiry to investigate the matter. They asserted that the guilty must be punished on the basis of the enquiry report.

The ACTA Unit of the college also condemned the incident of obstruction to enter the college campus and misconduct and misbehaviour with teachers by some students of college on 23 August. It was resolved that the Principal be informed regarding the matter. The ACTA Unit demanded strict disciplinary action against those erring students.

However, the ACTA Unit of Cachar College maintained conspicuous silence on the issue of the arrest of the College Principal, Dr Siddhartha Shankar Nath on the basis of the FIR lodged by DC Cachar on charges of negligence of duty and non-compliance of the Exam related SOP issued by the state government. It needs mention here that the Principal is not the member of ACTA.
