T20 India vs Sri Lanka: No banners and posters to be allowed inside Barsapara stadium

January 04: Apart from mobile phones and wallets, nothing else will be allowed inside the Baraspara Stadium, where the first T20 International (T20I) match between India and Sri Lanka will be played on on 5 January, 2020 from 7 PM. This was strictly instructed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the Assam Cricket Association (ACA).

ACA General Secretary, Devajit Lon Saikia said, “We will only allow money purse (not bag) and mobile phone and may be vehicle keys.” Guwahati Commissioner of Police Munna Prasad Gupta said, “We will not allow any banners, posters or pencils or sketch pens, however we may allow our National Flag.”

For the upcoming cricket match, cricket lovers can now buy their tickets from the website BookMyShow. Spectators will have to shell out anywhere between Rs 300 and Rs 5,500 to watch the T20 match between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati.

The city traffic police have made arrangements for parking the four wheeler and two wheeler of the spectators.  The spectators and general public can reach the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium, Barsapara through the following routes – via AK Azad Road from Paltanbazar, Ulubari towards Cricket Stadium, via AK Deb Road from Gorchuk Chariali on National Highway 37 towards Cricket Stadium, via AK Deb Road from Bharalumukh towards Cricket Stadium and via AK Azad road from Lokhra.

The following roads were declared as No Parking: a) Barsapara road from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali b) AK Azad road from Lalganesh point upto Barsapara Tiniali.
