Sushmita Dev will become Cabinet Minister if Congress comes to power: Ghulam Nabi Azad

March 5:Just like her father Santosh Mohan Dev, Sushmita Dev too is a leader of dynamic quality. She is one of the most vocal leader of our party. If voted to power, she will definitely become a union minister. This were the words uttered by the leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Tuesday while addressing a Congress party workers’ meeting in Baskandi under Cachar district of Assam.

Azad during his speech said that he shared an intimate relationship with Santosh Mohan Dev and so he had the opportunity to visit Silchar multiple times in the past. Ghulam Nabi Azad also visited Darul Uloom, the biggest Islamic institution in the Northeast. He was accompanied by Silchar MP Sushmita Dev, former state Minister Ajit Singh and MLA Lakhipur Rajdeep Goala.

Further during the meeting at Baskandi Ghulam Nabi Azad criticised the BJP government for complicating the Kashmir issue. He urged upon the people to vote for Congress party in the forthcoming general elections which upholds the policy of peace, harmony and brotherhood among various communities and religion.

In her speech, Sushmita Dev too attacked the BJP for making false promises. She expressed confidence that Congress will win both the seats of Lok Sabha from Barak Valley.
