Sushmita Dev appeals for united fight in Block Congress Meet at Lakhipur

June 28: The Congress workers need to put up a joint fight upholding the problems faced by the common people and at the same time drawing attention towards the faulty policies of the government. This was said by former MP and President of All India Mohila Congress, Sushmita Dev, while addressing party workers during a joint meeting of the three Congress Blocks of Lakhipur, Binnakandi and Banskandi under Lakhipur Assembly constituency on Sunday.

The meeting was held at Rajib Bhavan in Pailapool, which was presided over by Pradip Kumar Dey, President of Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC). Later on, speaking to the media, Sanjeev Roy, Secretary APCC said, “The party workers were rejuvenated by the presence of Ms. Sushmita Dev, who infused a new lease of life among the party workers. The packed gathering proved the love and support by the people towards Congress. The meeting was held obeying COVID-19 protocol.”

Also present in the meeting were Subir Sarkar, Rjesh Deb, Hazi Hayat Ali, Hanif Laskar, Khirod Karmakar, Chandra Sekhar Koiri, Monojit Das, Hareshwar Dhobi among others.
