June 6: The Hailakandi district administration has launched the Surakshit Dada Dadi, Nana Nani Abhiyaan (SDDNN) to reach out to the senior citizens and elderly in distress. The district administration has launched the initiative in partnership with Piramal Foundation. As part of the campaign, Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal urged the people to nurse and take care of the senior and elderly citizens in distress. Dahal made an impassioned plea to the people to extend a helping hand to the elderly living in their neighbourhood during the unprecedented times.
The Deputy Commissioner urged them to share stories of how they are taking care of the elderly at home and also their families. “Let’s spread the message of care with the hashtag #ApnoKaDhyaan and #Hailakandi on social media. Do share stories of how you are taking care of your family especially the elderly in your home,,” said Dahal, adding that the top three stories with the most likes and comments will feature on DC’s Hailakandi Facebook and Twitter page on a weekly basis.
