Summer vacation withdrawn by Gauhati University

April 16: Gauhati University has withdrawn the Summer Vacation which was due in the month of July 2020. In a notification issued by the Registrar of Gauhati University on 16 April, it was stated that, “the coming summer vacation which falls in the month of July, has been withdrawn for the University classes and its affiliated Colleges/institutions unless otherwise notified depending on success of containment of spread of the novel coronavirus.”

In fact, the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has led to the closure of all educational institutions. As a result, all academic activities would remain suspended for more than a month. All regular activities of the university will be resumed once the situation is declared as congenial by the Central and State Governments.
