Students of Govt Girls bags 1st position in essay & quiz competition organised by district administration

way2barak, Nov.27: To commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of Bir Lachit Barphukan, a bouquet of programmes was organised by the District Administration Cachar along with the rest of the state. Art, quiz, essay competition organised in this connection saw thousand of entries from various educational institutions of the district.

In the art competition, Government Girls’ HS & MP school earned laurels for their institution by securing 3 awards. The prizes were handed over by Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kr Jha in a ceremony held at Rajib Bhawan, Silchar.

Anju Baishnab a student of HS 2nd year of Govt Girls HS & MP School, Silchar secured 1st position in essay competition (senior level) in the district. She also secured a prize money of Rs.15,000. Also, Dhora Choudhury, a student of Class IX and Bonoshri Deb of Class X of the same institution bagged the 1st position in the quiz contest and got a prize money of Rs.5,000 each. The school authority has expressed satisfaction at the performance of their students and congratulated the winners.
