Student from Assam allegedly raped & murdered in Bengaluru
Dec. 17: A 20-year-old girl from Assam’s Barpeta district went to Bengaluru and took admission in East West College of Nursing in B.Sc course. Her family members accompanied her to Bengaluru and after her admission in the college, they left for Assam on 14 December leaving behind the girl. Her admission was done through one Anisur Rahman from lower Assam’s Goalpara district who was acquainted with the girl’s family. However, on 16 December, the girl was brought dead to Anupama Hospital in Yelahanka, Bangalore under mysterious circumstances.
An FIR was registered in this connection at Byadarahalli police station in Bengaluru wherein 22-year-old Anisur Rahman was held accused. Charges of rape and murder were filed against Anisur. Based on a complaint registered at Byadarahalli police station in Bengaluru, Anisur was arrested on Wednesday.
As per reports, the victim contacted Anisur in Bengaluru for encashing a cheque of Rs. 1.5 lakh after her family members left on 14 December. Hours later, the girl was brought dead to Anupama Hospital in Yelahanka, Bangalore. Police said preliminary investigations suggested that the victim was raped and murdered. However, police are waiting for the post-mortem report so that police can move forward in this incident. Meanwhile, Police said that Anisur have claimed that the victim started bleeding and fell unconscious when they were having consensual sex, following which he rushed her to the hospital.
