Staff of Radhamadhab College dies in a road accident on Wednesday

June 16: In a tragic incident, a 59 years old contractual staff of Radhamadhab College, Silchar lost her life in a street accident on Wednesday. Jyotshna Das (59) sat behind the motorbike of her son and went to Irongmara on Wednesday morning. While returning back, all of a sudden, she fell down from the bike and was seriously injured. She sustained severe head injury and was bleeding profusely. Her son was, however, unhurt.

Meanwhile, the locals rushed for help and with their help, her son took her at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). There she was taken to the emergency department. The doctors at once started her treatment. But her injuries were so grave that Jyotshna Das passed away within 3 hours at around 4 PM on Wednesday.

 Jyotshna Das has been working as a contractual Grade IV staff of Radhamadhab College since last 25 years. She is survived by her two married daughters, a son and many other relatives. Expressing deep grief, Dr Debashish Roy, Principal of the College said, “We were really shocked to get the sad news of the sudden demise of Jyotshna Das. She was very sincere and performed her duties with utmost dedication. Her death has certainly created a void for us.” The teaching and the non-teaching fraternity of Radhamadhab College has also expressed deep sorrow at the death of Jyotshna Das.
