Spike in Covid cases continue in Assam; 475 found positive & 3 deaths registered on Tuesday

Jan 4: On Tuesday, out of 36,781 tests, 475 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,21,897. The positivity rate in the state is 1.29 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 190 positive cases during the day. Further, on Tuesday, 03 died in the state due to COVID-19. The deceased are from Dibrugarh, Goalpara and Jorhat. The death toll in the state stands at 6,170. The recovery rate is 98.54 percent. Also, 154 patients were discharged during the day. At present, there are 1,588 active cases in the state.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 351 persons tested positive in Assam and 02 deaths were registered.
