Lockdown 4.0 to be announced before 18 May: Prime Minister

May 12:  The 4th phase of Lockdown will declared before 18 May, 2020. We will wear a mask, follow social distancing but not let our goals move away. This was said by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation once again for the 5th time since the outbreak of the pandemic as the country continues its fight against the novel coronavirus.

One virus has made this world perplexed. The whole world is now in a battle against this virus. This crisis is beyond the imagination of any person. However, people cannot accept defeat. We will have to survive and move forward by obeying all rules.This was said by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night while addressing the nation . He started speaking on COVID-19 situation, and said the world has been battling the pandemic for over four months now. Over 3 lakh people have succumbed to the infection, he says, condoling the deaths.

When corona crisis started, there was no PPE kit manufactured in India. Even N95 masks were made in very small scale. However, now India is manufacturing 2 lakh PPE kits and 2 lakh N95 masks daily, said the Prime Minister. he stressed that India has now become self-dependent. The crisis has turned into an opportunity for India. The Prime Minister hammered home ‘self-reliant India.’ He said that the world is looking towards India.

He said that when India speaks of self-reliance, it does not advocate for a self-centered system. In India’s self-reliance there is a concern for the whole world’s happiness, cooperation and peace. The Prime Minister also said, “India is the culture that believes the world is a family and wants the advancement of mankind (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam). India’s actions reflect on the world. When India becomes open-defecation free, eradicates TB and other diseases, it reflects on the world.”

The Prime Minister mentioned about 5 pillars.He said that India runs on five pillars: “Economy, infrastructure, system, vibrant demography, demand”. The Prime Minister announced a special relief package worth Rs.20 lakh crore. The package amounts to 10 percent of India’s GDP. Modi informed that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce the details of the financial package starting Wednesday. This is to make India self-sufficient focusing on land, labour, liquidity and laws.

India has the world’s best talent, we will make the best products, make supply chains more advance. We can do this and we will succeed, said the Prime Minister. He said, “We need to be vocal and go local.” The Prime Minister said, “This pandemic has taught us the importance of local manufacturing, local markets, local supply chain. These international brands were once global. Each Indian has to purchase local products and voice your support for local production.”

He further said that information regarding Lockdown 4.0 will be provided before 18 May, 2020. We must not restrict our lives only around coronavirus, Modi said in his speech on Tuesday, and added that the fourth phase of the coronavirus lockdown in India will be completely different from the earlier three phases of the lockdown.
