Special awareness cum registration drive for street vendors launched in Silchar
Dec. 27: As Chief Minister of Assam has taken PMSVANIDHI (Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi ) scheme with high priority, the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli too has come up with a special drive to maximise the benefits of PMSVANIDHI among the vendors in Silchar.
The special drive aims to reach out to all the vendors at all the streets of Silchar and bring them within the fold of PMSVANIDHI. The special four days drive was started with flagging off an awareness RATH on Monday which will continue till 30 December, 2021. The RATH was flagged off by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Cachar, Rajib Roy at Silchar Municipal Office in presence of, the Executive Officer Jessica Lalsim, Lead District Manager Cachar, Arunjyoti Dey, City Project Manager, ASULMS, Mustafa Ahamed and other officials. The chariot will move across the town and spread awareness among the Street Vendors.
The RATH will come to halt on 30 December, 2021 which will then be received by the Executive Officer, Silchar Municipal Board,Jessica Lalsim. To reach out to all the left out vendors, ten teams were formed who will reach among all the left out vendors and facilitate them to apply. For this period, dedicated registration desks will also be opened at Silchar Municipal Office.
Deputy Commissioner, Cachar reviewed the progress of the scheme with all banks and instructed to work taking into consideration, the special drive and prepare to distribute the all sanction orders as per the target on 31 December, 2021. After the end of the drive, a celebration will be organised to mark the successful implementation of PMSVANIDHI. During the celebration, highest mobilisation team, most friendly bank, highest disbursement bank will be felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner Cachar.
