Sonai Circle Office gears up battle against COVID-19, donates ₹30,000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi
May 02: After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic followed by subsequent nationwide lockdown, there has been a number of measures adopted by the government to keep the deadly virus in check and save the people from its clutches. All government machinery were also activated to spread awareness, stay besides the people and to continue offering essential service. The Deputy Commissioners too have also alerted all Circle Officers to be vigilant.
In this context, Sonai Revenue Circle Office has donated an amount of ₹30,000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi to fight the battle against coronavirus. The cheque was handed over to Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar by Circle Officer Sonai Sudeep Nath and Bikash Chetri. The amount was donated from their salary by the officials and staff of Sonai Circle Office.
Circle Officer Sudip Nath has been active during the ongoing pandemic and took initiative of sending 200 stranded people from Sonai to their respective home districts. Mr. Nath went in person at ISBT Ramnagar to oversee and ensure that everything is done in a proper manner. He has also arranged a vehicle at Sonai for public announcement regarding the various do’d and don’ts regarding COVID-19. During the ongoing lockdown, daily announcement is made in various parts of Sonai circle in this vehicle, whereby people are informed about different government directives. The efforts of Circle Officer were also lauded by the local people.
