SK Roy College, Katlicherra to be converted into quarantine centre
June 16: Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Megh Nidhi Dahal made an on-the-spot assessment of SK Roy College at Katlicherra and Joy Mongal High School at Krishnapur for converting them into quarantine centres. On Tuesday, the Deputy Commissioner along with officials visited the two educational institutions and inspected the facilities available there.
Earlier during the week, DC Hailakandi Megh Nidhi Dahal inspected Dholai MG Model Hospital for converting it into a COVID-19 treatment centre. With three more confirmed cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus have been reported from Hailakandi on Monday, taking the tally to 143.
Superintendent of SK Roy designated COVID-19 Civil Hospital, Dr.Sudip Chakraborty informed that 43 COVID-19 positive patients are admitted at the isolation wards while 26 are at MG Model Hospital while 21 are at SMC&H.
There are currently 92 active cases, which include two deaths. 51 patients on being cured have been discharged from civil hospital in Hailakandi, SMC&H, Silchar and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. Of the 3,232 swab samples taken, 3,003 turned out to be negative, including 617 negative on Monday. Results of 37 swab samples awaited. There are 766 persons under facility quarantine centre and 1,325 under home quarantine.
