Assam University reschedules Puja Vacation from 22 Oct to 31 Oct

Even Sem Final of departments of Univ to be held in online mode; offline mode for colleges

Sept. 12: In partial modification of the notification dated 25 August,2020 and in pursuance of the decision in 87th meeting of the Academic Council, the Registrar in-charge of Assam University notified that the Puja Holidays for Academic Departments and Affiliated Colleges of the University stands revised from 22 October to 31 October instead of 22 October to 16 November notified earlier. The other provisions mentioned in the said notification are:

  • Even Semester final examination 2020 (including arrears) of the terminal/ end semester of the Academic Departments of the University shall be held in online mode. General guidelines for conduct of the online Examination shall be issued shortly by the University. Academic Departments are expected to take necessary steps to commence the Examination by September 2020 after proper vetting of the specific modalities of Examination by CoE.
  • TDC (Non-CBCS) Even Semester final examination 2020 of the terminal/ end semester of affiliated Colleges shall be held in offline mode from 29 September 2020. The arrear papers of the TDC (Non-CBCS) terminal/ end semester students shall also be held in offline mode.
  • Performance evaluation of the Even Semester final examination 2020 of the students of the intermediate semesters shall be based on past performance and internal assessment marks. Student who will exercise option for special examination as per UGC guideline on examinations dated 6 July 2020 shall have to forego the marks awarded by this process.
  • In case a student of terminal/ end semester is unable to appear in the examination conducted by the University for whatsoever the reason(s) may be, he/she shall be given an opportunity to appear in special examinations on submission of application through respective Department/ College for such papers which may be conducted by the University in offline mode as and when feasible. The above provision shall be applicable only for the Academic session 2019-20 as one-time measure.
  • Reporting to station by employees of the University who are presently out of station with due station leave was extended upto 30 September 2020. However, if there is any otherwise directive in-between by UGC/ MoE/ MHA, the same shall be followed. Concerned out-station employees shall have to seek extension of station leave accordingly.
