Training held for monitoring progress of adolescent empowerment, prevention of child marriage

Nov.10: An online capacity building training on MIS for uploading of reports and monitoring progress of District Action Plan (DAP) on adolescent empowerment and prevention of child marriage was conducted in Hailakandi on Tuesday. The online capacity building training was held at the office chamber of District Social Welfare Officer cum Member Secretary, District Level Joint Task Force on Women and Children, Jyotirmoy Daimary.

Daimary said the objectives of the training were providing an overview of the progress of adolescent empowerment and prevention of child marriage in the district, strengthening MIS and monitoring mechanism for DAP implementation and seeking guidance for the way forward.

Stakeholders from different departments and agencies participated in the training in which the District Coordinator, MAMTA-HIMC, Shaheed Ahmed Laskar gave an overview of status of progress on adolescent empowerment and prevention of child marriage as well as reporting formats for strengthening MIS and monitoring mechanism for effective implementation of DAP.

Daimary, in his address, pointed out that a District Level Joint Task Force on Women and Children was formed with the Deputy Commissioner as Chairperson to ‘integrate and synergise the efforts of all line departments and agencies working in the field of women and children for ensuring a conducive developmental eco-system for adolescent empowerment and bringing an end to child marriage’. “This process is a step towards finalisation of MIS monitoring component of District Action Plan on adolescent empowerment and prevention of child marriage,” quipped Daimary.
