Sister’s house of BJP leader Aminul Haque Laskar attacked, FIR lodged, 3 arrested
May 5: On Wednesday afternoon, the sister’s house of former Deputy Speaker & BJP leader Aminul Haque Laskar at Sonai Road was attacked by miscreants. This was alleged by the former Deputy Speaker himself. Mr. Haque further alleged that the residence of his relative at Sonai Road was attacked by AIUDF supporters. In this connection, a police complaint was also lodged.
It was alleged that miscreants belonging to AIUDF pelted bricks and stones inside the house and caused heavy damage. As per reports, police forces from Rangirkhari Police Out Post reached the spot and after prima facie investigation arrested three persons. However, Aminul Haque Laskar expressed dissatisfaction at the way the investigation is carried on.
The BJP leader did not want to see this incident as an isolated one and rather connected it with the untoward incident which happened at Dhanehari on the day of poll and some subsequent events. He alleged that the incidents were the handiwork of AIUDF supporters.
It needs mention here that in the recently concluded Assembly Election, Aminul Haque Laskar (BJP) lost against Karim Uddin Barbhuiya (AIUDF) by a wide margin of 19,694 votes. Aminul Haque Laskar got 52,243 votes, whereas, Karim Uddin Barbhuiya got 71,937 votes.
