Silchar Presbyterian Church donates ₹1 lakh to Assam Arogya Nidhi

April 27: With the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown, life has come to a standstill. All economic activities are now freezed. Life has taken the upper hand of livelihood. Those daily wage workers are now devoid of work and income. Both the centre and the state government has expanded its arms to offer relief to all those in distress. At the call of the nation, individuals, organisations, NGOs, institutions, religious centres have all come forward and contributing generously to fight the battle against coronavirus. To add to this list is the Silchar Presbyterian Church.

As a part of social commitment, the Silchar Presbyterian Church have donated an amount of Rs. 1 lakh to the Assam Arogya Nidhi Fund through the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. On behalf of the Church, Tuhin Kanti Ghose and Rajesh Das handed over the cheque to Barnali Sharma, DC, Cachar.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. … Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:32. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn,” said the Holy Bible. True to its saying, the Silchar Presbyterian Church did not just stop there. Apart from the contribution of Rs. 1 lakh towards Arogya Nidhi Fund, the Church also donated cash amount of Rs. 1,000 each to 30 needy families.
