Silchar Municipality introduces online payment of holding tax
June 15: In the digital era, attempt is on to provide the public benefits of online mode of payment for almost every services in the country. Keeping upto this pace of digital era, Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) has also taken a unique step. From now onwards, residents of Silchar Municipal area can pay their holding tax online. SMB in its official website has introduced an option of “Quick Pay.
However, before one starts pay online, he/she needs to get his/her mobile number registered by visiting the office of the SMB.” Once the mobile number is registered in the SMB office, one can proceed to take the benefit of online payment. Here is how one needs to do the online payment:
1. Go to http://silcharmunicipality.org.in/
2. Click on the link “Pay your tax online”
3. Enter your holding number, registered mobile number and the OTP that you receive.
4. Pay online.
SMB in the notification further stated that, “For those who haven’t got their numbers registered against their holdings may get it registered at Silchar Municipal Board office. We haven’t provided the online registration method to ensure authenticity of the registration.”
