Silchar Management Association reconstitued, Chairman-GS unchanged

way2barak, June 3: The Annual General Meeting of Silchar Management Association (SMA) was held on 2nd June 2024 at Borail Homes, Ambicapatty, Silchar. The meeting started with the Presidential Speech from the Chairperson of the Association Mr Vivek Podder. The Chairperson stressed upon the potential of SMA to play a pivotal role in the Socio-economic and infrastructural development of Barak Valley region of Assam. The Chairperson informed the members that the Association will be partnering with the local educational institutions to excel the entrepreneurial abilities of the youths of the valley. Dr Amit Kumar Das, General Secretary, presented the Annual Report of the Association followed by the presentation of audited Statement of Accounts by Mr Navin Gulgulia, Treasurer, SMA. The Association took the opportunity to offer a token of love and gratitude to Mr Aditya Chakraborty, Secretary, SVB, Indian Tea Association who got transferred to the Head Office of the Association located at Kolkata. At the same time, many eminent industrialists who attended the meeting as invited guests like Mr Bipul Gohain, Asset Manager, ONGC, Srikona, Mr Arindam Hore, Proprietor, Surma Valley Distillaries, Mr Mulchand Sand, Prop. Balaji Sales Corporation, Mr Vishal Sand, Managing Director, Kay Cee Nursing Home, Mr Rony John, Chief Manager, IOCL were felicitated by the senior members of the Association. It was followed by the formation of new executive body for the year 2024-25. The meeting unanimously selected Mr Vivek Podder as the Chairman of the Association followed by Mr Debasish Swami, Vice Chairman, Dr Amit Kumar Das, Gen. Secretary, Mr Saurab Debroy and Mr Sukanta Paul as Joint Secretary and Mr Siddharth Mundra as the Treasurer of the Association. The meeting ended with vote of thanks from the members of the newly constituted executive body.
