Silchar DSA all set to inaugurate state of the art gymnasium on Sunday

Dec. 18: It’s indeed a welcome news for the sports lovers of this valley. A state-of-the-art Gymnasium Hall will soon find a place of pride in the arena of District Sports Association (DSA),Silchar. This will definitely add a new feather in the wings of DSA, Silchar. The Gymnasium Hall will be formally inaugurated on 19 December, 2021 at 4 PM.

This Gymnasium Hall named after ‘Prafulla Chandra Banik’ will be inaugurated by his wife Gita Rani Banik in presence of Kalika Prasad Dutta- Former World Arm Wrestler, Dr. Aniruddha Biswas- renowned Surgeon,  Subimal Dhar, ex- General Secretary of DSA, Silchar. The Hall was completed by Pranay Banik in memory of his father Prafulla Chandra Banik. However, the equipments of the Gymnasium has been installed by DSA, Silchar out of it’s own Fund.

DSA in the recent past has also come up with a fantastic archive. On 24 October, 2021, a state-of-the-art Sports Library cum Archive found a place of pride in the arena of District Sports Association (DSA),Silchar. The Sports Library cum Archive has been built in memory of Sudhangshu Mohon Dutta. The archive showcases the achievements of sportsperson not only of this valley but of elsewhere also. Further, for sports researchers, it is a storehouse for source materials. This Sports Library cum Archive has a tangible experience which is an inspiration for posterity.
