Silchar Congress felicitates ‘Rising Youth’ for regular cremation of COVID +ve dead bodies

August 20: On Thursday, Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC) felicitated the members of ‘Rising Youth Society’ who have been volunteering the noble mission of cremating those dead bodies who died due to COVID-19.

‘Rising Youth Society’ is a non-political humanity based organisation. They are working on Mobile Food Banking Service for making hunger free world. Their volunteers are trained for Disaster Risk Management for fight against any type of disaster. However, the pandemic has brought out the best of these youths. Apart from distribution of food commodities among the poor and the needy, they have also involved themselves in cremation of those, who died due to novel coronavirus.

Every night, the members of the ‘Rising Youth Society’ can be seen wearing PPE Kits and cremating the dead bodies at Silchar crematorium observing Covid-19 protocol. This is indeed a great humanitarian service offered by the youths of the organisation.

Expressing their delight at the recognition given by District Congress, the members of Rising Youth Society wrote, “We believe that service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth. Today, District Congress Committee, Cachar felicitated us for our services for regular COVID-19 death cremation. We take this opportunity to thank Abhijit Paul General Secretary, Silchar District Congress Committee, Rajesh Deb and all others present during the occasion.”
