Silchar Airport to provide Ambulift facility to all Airlines at a nominal charge of ₹100

Apr. 1: Airports Authority of India is celebrating it’s 27th Annual Day on 1 April, 2022. To celebrate this day, AAI Ambulift facility would now be provided at a nominal token charge of Rs.100 (including GST) to all Airlines as a social welfare measure for empowerment of Divyangs, passengers with reduced mobility and any other emergent situation. Passengers were requested to contact the concerned Airlines to avail this service.

The Ambulift facility has been inducted into service by Silchar Airport in March 2022 to serve passengers with reduced mobility & its ready for ‘lift off’. Silchar Airport authority has urged upon the passengers to contact their concerned Airlines for availing this special assistance service.

Infact, the number of mobility reduced passengers (PRMs) with difficulties to travel long distances at the airport on foot or to use passenger stairs at outdoor locations is growing continuously worldwide. The Ambulift service is one-stop solution for all such persons for whom boarding aircraft at an airport becomes troublesome due to health related issues. 

The SideBull Ambulift, is a medical highloader or highlifter, Passenger Boarding Lift (PBL), also called ambulance lift or ambilift, used as a boarding vehicle for disabled passengers (pax), passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) or disabled air-travellers, mainly people using wheelchairs (WCHC) or elderly people with difficulties in climbing stairs.

The ambilift vehicle is used by the special assistance or mobility service for passengers with reduced mobility travellers at the airport.
