Three fresh COVID cases in Hailakandi, pushes tally to 3,382

April 8: Hailakandi reported three new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the coronavirus tally in the district to 3,382. The district currently has five active COVID-19 cases while 3,354 patients have recovered from the disease.

Two patients each are admitted at SK Roy Civil Hospital and Silchar Medical College and Hospital and one under home isolation. The district has so far tested 1,63,670 samples for COVID-19 including 2,389 samples in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the district is nine.

The COVID vaccination drive was carried out in government hospitals, at selected colleges, SP Office and Police Reserve in the district on Saturday. The vaccination drive will be stepped up on Sunday and Monday.

Meanwhile, the district administration has informed that the rates for RT-PCR test for COVID-19 collected at NABL and ICMR approved laboratories and hospitals has been fixed at Rs.500 only and samples collected from home at Rs.700 only. Rate for Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is Rs.250 only.

The administration has asked the hospitals and labs to display the revised rates prominently and ensure strict compliance of the order. “Non-compliance will attract strict action as per provisions of law”, the order warned.
The officials of the administration and health department will closely monitor and enforce the rates strictly.
